Undersecretary Tripodi spoke at the Italy-Denmark Business Forum. Bilateral agreement signed.

The Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Maria Tripodi, spoke today – via video link – at the opening of the Italy-Denmark Business Forum in Copenhagen, where the entire Italian system is represented, including ITA, SACE, Confindustria, AIAD, and many companies.

In her speech, Undersecretary Tripodi emphasized that Italy and Denmark are partners united by common values and a shared vision of sustainable growth, underlining the solidity of bilateral trade – over €7 billion in 2024 – and the increase in Italian exports which, in the first seven months of 2025, exceeded €2.5 billion (+9%). Within this framework, the Italian government is mobilized – as part of the growth diplomacy promoted by Minister Tajani – to support new industrial and investment opportunities, particularly in the defence and security sectors, as well as in sustainable construction and infrastructure.

Undersecretary Tripodi also highlighted the prospects for collaboration in the fields of sustainable mobility and urban redevelopment.

She said: “Italy and Denmark today have the opportunity to strengthen an advanced model of industrial cooperation, based on innovation, sustainability, security, and strategic vision. In a complex geopolitical context, collaboration between our countries is essential to building common responses in the European defence sector and developing modern and sustainable infrastructure.”

On the same day, the Bilateral Agreement on the Exchange and Mutual Protection of Classified Information in the Field of Defence and the Defence Industry was signed in Copenhagen, a useful tool for further strengthening industrial collaboration in the sector.
