On 4 December, the catalogue for the exhibition “The Cascella Family: Beyond Time” was presented at the Basilio Cascella Civic Museum in Pescara. The exhibition’s editorial project was curated by the Istituto dell’Enciclopedia Italiana Treccani, commissioned by the Regional Council of Abruzzo and the Embassy of Italy in Spain, in collaboration with the association “Casa Abruzzo”.
The catalogue celebrates the unique and ever-evolving history of the family of artists from Abruzzo: five generations, starting with patriarch Basilio Cascella, who have contributed to artistic avant-gardes over the past 150 years. The event marked the conclusion of the programme “Radici e Rotte” (Roots and Routes), which saw the Abruzzo Region host six months of activities dedicated to promoting the region in the Spanish capital.
Speakers included Giuseppe Buccino Grimaldi, Ambassador of Italy to Spain, and Lorenzo Sospiri, President of the Regional Council of Abruzzo. The presentation was also attended by Maria Rita Carota, Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Culture of Pescara, Maurizio Di Ubaldo, President of “Casa Abruzzo – La Casa degli Abruzzesi in Spagna”, Marta Leonori, Director of the Management Area at the Istituto dell’Enciclopedia Italiana Treccani, Guicciardo Sassoli de’ Bianchi Strozzi, curator of the exhibition “The Cascella Family: Beyond Time”, and Orante Paris, representing Marco Maria Cerbo, Head of the Unit for the Coordination of Italian Cultural Institutes at the Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of MAECI. Also present were Councillors Emiliano Di Matteo and Luca De Renzis, as well as Davide Cascella and Matteo Basilé, representing the Cascella family.
A further presentation of the catalogue is scheduled to take place in Madrid on 17 January 2026, the closing day of the exhibition.
