Undersecretary Tripodi opened Jordan’s country presentation in Rome

The Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Maria Tripodi, participated today, on behalf of Minister Antonio Tajani, in a country presentation on Jordan organized by the Foreign Ministry together with the Italian Trade Agency. The Jordanian side was represented by the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Zeina Toukan, and the Minister of Investment, Tareq Abu Ghazaleh. The initiative was attended by over 50 Italian companies and business associations, as well as representatives of the Italian system, including CDP, SACE, and SIMEST.

“Today’s initiative is another important step towards bringing our countries ever closer. The Government is working resolutely to ensure that Italian companies can effectively compete for the opportunities opening up in the run-up to the EU-Jordan Investment Conference scheduled for April 21 in the Dead Sea,” the Undersecretary emphasized, while recalling Jordan’s growing strategic and economic importance in the MENA region.

The potential for cooperation is particularly high in the areas of infrastructure, transport and logistics, renewable energy, desalination, industry, and advanced technologies, particularly considering Jordan’s strategic position as a regional hub between Asia, Africa, and Europe, at the heart of the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC).
