A series of events promoted by the Italian Embassy in Dhaka as part of the Italian Design Day begins today.

The protagonist of the 2026 edition is Italian architect and designer Fabio Novembre, appointed “Ambassador of Italian Design,” who will lead a week of events.

The initiative aims to strengthen trade and cultural exchanges between Italy and Bangladesh, enhancing the experiences and traditions of the two countries, with a focus on innovation in the sector.

Antonio Alessandro, Italian Ambassador to Dhaka, said: “We view Bangladesh, with its 180 million inhabitants, not only as a competitive manufacturing platform, to which we provide machinery and technology for its continued modernization, but also as a valuable partner for industrial collaborations, as well as a promising market for our exports,” said Antonio Alessandro, Italian Ambassador to Dhaka.

Architect Novembre stated: “I am delighted to represent the tradition and evolution of Italian design in Bangladesh and to contribute, through the many initiatives organized by the Embassy and local partners, to better mutual understanding in the creative industries.”
