As part of the fifteenth “International Festival of Symphonic Music”, the concert “The Music of Cinema: from Astor Piazzolla to Ennio Morricone” took place at the “Boualem Bessaih” Opera House in Algiers, with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute and the Embassy of Italy.
The concert was performed by the Nouvel Orchestre de Chambre “Ferruccio Busoni”, conducted by Maestro Massimo Belli, with soloists Gianni Fassetta on the accordion and Lucio Degani on the violin. The evening’s programme was specially commissioned from the orchestra exclusively for this event in Algiers and featured performances of some of the most acclaimed film soundtracks, from Ennio Morricone to Luis Bacalov, from Astor Piazzolla to Nino Rota.
The event is part of the programme of activities promoting Italian culture in Algeria, showcasing a repertoire that spans various periods in the history of Italian and international cinema.
