On the sidelines of a meeting with journalists in Aosta, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, strongly condemned the latest attack on Kuwait City International Airport, expressing his sympathy and solidarity with all victims and their families.
“These attacks are wholly unacceptable and run counter to any efforts aimed at peacebuilding and stabilisation in the region. It is essential to avoid any further escalation. I call on Iran to choose the path of dialogue and negotiation. Only through de-escalation, in full respect of states’ sovereignty and international law, will it be possible to build lasting peace,” Minister Tajani stated.
Minister Tajani reaffirmed Italy’s full solidarity and the Italian Government’s closeness to the Kuwaiti leadership and people: “Italy stands ready to contribute to the security of the Gulf region, but I insist: peace can only be achieved through negotiation; politics must return to the forefront,” the Minister concluded.
