“Travel safely” summer campaign

With the arrival of the summer, on 19 June Minister Antonio Tajani presented the ‘Travel Safely’ summer campaign at the Crisis Unit’s Operations Room.

The initiative aims to promote a culture of prevention and responsibility when travelling abroad, raising public awareness of the need to plan their trips carefully using the tools provided by the Minister of Foreign Affairs. With over 8 million views in 2025 and more than 5 million since the start of 2026, the ‘Viaggiare Sicuri’ portal remains the main point of reference for Italian citizens seeking up-to-date and reliable information on their destination countries.

The new version of the ‘Viaggiare Sicuri’ website will make it even easier to access information on countries of interest, view travel advisories and find useful contact details tailored to users’ specific needs. At the same time, the ‘Viaggiare Sicuri’ app has also been revamped, drawing on the experience gained in managing the recent Gulf crisis, to ensure a more effective link between citizens and the Crisis Unit. In just a few simple steps, users will be able to access travel information, share their location with the Crisis Unit and receive notifications directly on their smartphone in the event of an emergency.

The campaign will run throughout the summer and, for the first time, in addition to the RAI networks and official social media channels, it will also make use of digital platforms, such as Google and TikTok. The initiative will be supported by a number of well-known figures from the world of journalism, the Ambassadors of Italian sport and Nicolò Balini (Human Safari), one of Italy’s most popular travel influencers on social media.
