The fourth song contest dedicated to the Sanremo Italian Music Festival, organized by the Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing, came to an end. The initiative was matched by exceptional success: approximately 300 spectators in the Institute’s auditorium and over 5,000 users connected online via live streaming on Instagram and Weibo.

The contest, open to non-professional singers of all nationalities and enriched this year with a new section dedicated to young talent, provided participants with the opportunity to perform by singing songs from all editions of the Sanremo Music Festival, thus confirming the role of Italian pop music as a privileged instrument of cultural dialogue between Italy and China. First Prize in the adult category was awarded to students Zhou Ruitian and Liang Xiaobai for their performance of the song “La cura per me.” The winners were awarded the event’s grand prize: a round-trip flight to Italy, offered by the Italy-China Council Foundation (ICCF) Academy.

The event was organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture (MiC), in collaboration with Unitalia – Studiare in Italia, and with the support of the Italy-China Council Foundation (ICCF) Academy, 024 Kitchen Concert, Yijun Cultural Company, the Buona Bocca and Abbocca restaurants, Jindahaili Wine Group, Italus, Three Little Elephants Media, East Coast Music Academy, and Sant’Anna Company. The media support of That’s Beijing and The Beijinger magazines was also crucial.
