The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, pays tribute to the magistrate Vittorio Occorsio today, on the fiftieth anniversary of his assassination by the hand of neo-fascist terrorists. ‘Fifty years after the brutal assassination of Vittorio Occorsio, we pay tribute to a public civil servant who defended the values of the rule of law and democracy with courage, rigour and a sense of duty. His commitment to combating terrorism and all forms of subversion remains an example to the institutions and to all those called upon to serve the Republic,’ said the Minister. Tajani then expressed his solidarity to the magistrate’s family, emphasising that Vittorio Occorsio’s sacrifice continues to highlight, even today, the importance of upholding the rule of law and the principles enshrined in the Constitution, in memory of all the victims of terrorism.
