Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani today sent a letter to the Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, to express the Italian Government’s condolences on the passing of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Father Emir of Qatar.
While offering his deepest condolences to the Al Thani family and the people of Qatar, Minister Tajani described the Father Emir as “an exceptional and visionary figure, who guided his country through significant transformations and towards a path of great growth, whose legacy will be a source of inspiration for Qatar’s continued progress and for the development of peace initiatives in the region”.
The Minister also reaffirmed Italy’s commitment to continuing to work with Qatar to further deepen the excellent relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
