Minister Di Maio had a telephone conversation today with the new Israeli Foreign Minister, Gabi Ashkenazi.
Congratulating his colleague on his new position, Minister Di Maio recalled the importance that Italy attaches to Israel’s security in a Middle East crises, tensions and threats.
The Ministers agreed on the need to deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries, starting with the resumption of tourist flows when conditions permit, up to the development of critical sectors of common interest, such as science and technology.
Concerning the Peace Process, Minister Di Maio reiterated Italy’s consolidated position in support of a just, sustainable, and directly negotiated two-state solution between the Parties.
