Undersecretary Di Stefano at the Qualivita Foundation web meeting to talk about exports and agri-food

Undersecretary Manlio Di Stefano spoke this morning at a web meeting organised by Fondazione Qualivita in cooperation with OriGin Italia, FederDOC and other Consortia for the protection of geographical indications.

“Agri-food” – the Undersecretary said – “is one of the driving sectors of the Italian economy and one of the main factors of attractiveness of our country in the world, because it places emphasis on the quality and specificity of our territory. Our country remains first in terms of number of products recognised by the European Union as geographical indications, so we are first among the best”.

The Undersecretary then presented the main points of the “Pact for Export”, signed last June 8th at the Foreign Ministry by Minister Di Maio and the main ministries and stakeholders of the Italian production sectors, in which the extraordinary communication campaign to relaunch the Italian brand will be particularly important.

“I invite you to come aboard the Pact to ferry Italy out of this crisis,” the Undersecretary concluded.
