The OICE 2026 Report on the presence of Italian engineering, architecture and technical consultancy firms in international markets was presented today at the Foreign Ministry.
The Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Massimo Dell’Utri, who attended on behalf of Minister Antonio Tajani, highlighted the sector’s contribution to promoting Italian excellence worldwide, emphasising the role of OICE member firms in major international projects in the infrastructure, transport, energy and construction sectors. He also underlined those companies’ ability to facilitate the internationalisation of other Italian firms and the importance of collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the diplomatic and consular network. In this regard, he welcomed the forthcoming Memorandum of Understanding between OICE and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), aimed at expanding opportunities for international collaboration.
The OICE Report highlights the sector’s growing international reach: in 2025, members’ overseas turnover reached approximately 2.2 billion euros, accounting for 40 per cent of the total, whilst the number of internationalised companies increased by 73 per cent over five years. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the diplomatic and consular network and the agencies of the so-called Sistema Italia support this process through growth diplomacy. The effectiveness of this commitment is reflected in the fact that 82% of the companies surveyed recognise that the Italian institutional system plays a tangible role in facilitating their activities in foreign markets, thus reaffirming the value of public support for internationalisation.
