Accreditation notice: Arrival and departure of the President of the United States of America, Barack Obama (Fiumicino Airport, 26 and 28 March 2014)

The President of the United States of America, Barack Obama, will be arriving at Fiumicino “Leonardo da Vinci” Airport on Wednesday 26 March 2014. He will leave from the same airport on Friday 28 March.



Photographers and TV crews interested in filming his arrival and/or departure should apply for specific accreditation no later than 16.00 of Tuesday 25 March 2014.


Online accreditation system. Photographers and TV crews interested in following the event should:


– complete the interactive form available at http://mae.accreditationsystem.info/ITA/Indice.asp


– attach all required documentation (if not already submitted) to the form, in digital format


Required documentation:


– a letter from your media organisation


– for foreign journalists in Italy: a note verbale issued by the Embassy in Rome of your media organisation’s country.


Applications should reach us no later than 16.00 of 25 March.


If you are unable to complete the online accreditation procedure, please send your application by fax to the Foreign Ministry’s Press and Institutional Communication Service (tel. 06/3691.3432 – fax 06/3691.7193) or by email to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it.


Accredited photographers and TV crews interested in following his arrival should report directly to Rome-Fiumicino Airport –Cargo City Area no later than 18.00 on Wednesday 26 March. Those wishing to follow his departure should report to Fiumicino, again at the Cargo City Area, no later than 08.00 of Friday 28 March 2014.
