“Bilateral relations between Italy and Cyprus are excellent and translate into very profitable cooperation also at European and international level. Within Europe, we greatly appreciate the support that we have always had from Cyprus on the issue of migration and the seriousness with which Nicosia has engaged in the mechanism to relocate asylum seekers. At bilateral level, our relations are rooted in our strong cultural affinity and extremely promising trade and industrial relations, especially in the field of energy and defence.”
This was the stament made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, , Angelino Alfano, following today’s meeting at the Farnesina with his Cypriot counterpart, Ioannis Kasoulides.
