The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Enzo Moavero Milanesi, had two meetings in Brussels with members of the Government of the United Kingdom on the developments in the Brexit dossier. The first took place last night, on the sidelines of the Foreign Affairs Council, with the British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt; the second today, on the sidelines of the General Affairs Council, with the British Minister for the Cabinet Office, David Lidington.
The meetings offered the opportunity for an in-depth update on the latest developments in the British debate on Brexit, also ahead of the discussion on the agenda of next Thursday’s European Council and of the session dedicated to the United Kingdom’s exit from the European Union. The two meetings also addressed the issues of greatest bilateral interest and reaffirmed the shared intention to guarantee acquired rights independently from the final scenario.
