“Allow me to reaffirm once again my appreciation for the close cooperation between Italy and the Netherlands in sharing the United Nations Security Council Seat. We are collaborating on the basis of our mutual commitment for transparency, consultation and the sharing of information, in order to assure the maximum consistency and synergy possible,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, when addressing his Dutch counterpart Bert Koenders. The comment was made at an event held at Villa Madama on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting “A shared responsibility for a common goal: solidarity and security” on cooperating with the Countries of Transit of migration flows.
The two ministers discussed possible joint initiatives. In particular, Minister Alfano told his Dutch counterpart: “Italy is ready and willing to push forward the joint action on the initiative to fight human trafficking in zones of conflict and in areas of crisis, also in Libya.”
