Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, had a cordial telephone conversation this afternoon with the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Yves Le Drian.
They discussed the many shared aims and interests of Italy and France, on the European and international front, and underlined the excellent state of bilateral relations.
On the European front, the main issues discussed were the changes to the Dublin system for managing migration flows, the strengthening of European economic policy and the Brexit negotiations, which will focus on reducing negative effects for European citizens as much as possible.
International policy discussions centred on the fight against terrorism, with particular attention paid to the need for stabilisation in Libya.
