Alfano: “I express appreciation for the developments in the political situation in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia”​

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano:  “I would like to express my appreciation for the decision taken by the president of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Ivanov, to confer to Zoran Zaev the mandate for form a new Cabinet. It is an important attempt to solve the difficult ongoing political crisis. We hope that a new Government might soon be established in Skopje, supported by a parliamentary majority and committed to make the internal reforms that are essential to quickly resume the path towards the Country’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration. In this perspective, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia will be able to continue to count on the support of Italy, also in its current role as rotating Chair of the Western Balkans Process.”
