“We confirm our strong support to the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine. Kiev has put in motion a process of reforms, which we hope will continue to develop with determination,” said the minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, to his Ukrainian counterpart, Pavlo Klimkin, in a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference (MSC).
“While holding the G7 Presidency, Italy will coordinate the Support Group for Ukraine, focusing priorities on economic, financial, tax and administrative reforms and on supporting the fight against corruption”, Mr Alfano further commented and went on to underline that “there is no alternative to the Minsk Agreements: prolonged instability at the very heart of the European Continent runs counter to the interests of Ukraine, Europe and Russia.”
