Spain: Minister Alfano in Madrid to meet with his Spanish counterpart, Minister Dastis

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, will travel to Madrid tonight for bilateral talks with his Spanish counterpart, Alfonos Dastis, and with the Stare Secretary for the European Union, Jorge Toledo, which will be held at the residence of Italian Ambassador Stefano Sannino.

On the agenda of the talks are bilateral issues, starting with the consolidation of the already excellent economic and trade relations between Italy and Spain, but also the major challenges of Europe and the most important international issues, including Libya and Syria.

Tomorrow, at the invitation of Foreign Minister Dastis, Mr Alfano will participate in a debate dedicated to Spain’s foreign policy and in the panel entitled “Shared challenges of European societies of the future” together with the Ministers of Education, Culture and Sport and the spokesperson of the Spanish Government, Inigo Mendez de Vigo, to be held at the 17th National Congress of Spain’s People’s Party (Partido Popular).

At the end of the day, Mr Alfano will briefly greet Spanish Prime Minister, Mariano Rajoy.
