Foreign trade, Di Maio: ‘Export, a dynamic and fundamental component for Italy’s economic growth

In August, according to ISTAT, exports continued to grow by 0.6% compared to the previous month and by 17.8% compared to August last year.

The value of our exports in the first eight months of the year is close to 332 billion euros, thus surpassing the value recorded in the first eight months of 2020 (271 billion) and 316 billion in the same period 2019.

“The foreign trade data released by Istat show how our exports are continuing to grow and are confirmed as a dynamic and fundamental component for Italy’s economic growth. In the first eight months of the year, our exports performed better than Germany, Spain, and France and went better not only compared to last year but also in comparison with 2019, the record year for Italian exports (332 billion Euros compared to 316 in 2019).  These results encourage us to continue with the guidelines of the Pact for Export, strongly supported over a year ago by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” said Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio.
