Federico Albanese and his piano will perform in Slovakia for the first time. The tour that is taking him across Europe will make a stop in Bratislava on Monday, 5 June, at the Primate’s Palace. Albanese’s concert is organised by the Italian Cultural Institute in Bratislava in partnership with the Hlavné mesto SR Bratislava and “Ponti di Cultura” to celebrate the inauguration of the 10th edition of the “Dolce vitaj” Italian festival. Federico Albanese is a pianist and composer born in Milan in 1982 but a Berliner by adoption, who is known for his ariose cinema-like melodies admirably merging classical, electronic, minimalist and pop music. His refined dream-like notes can be associated with the music of Dustin O’Halloran, Nils Frahm, Michael Nyman and Olafur Arnalds, and groups like Mogwai and the Durutti Column. In the course of his brilliant career, Albanese has also cooperated with Ludovico Einaudi. His first release, “The Houseboat and the Moon”, published by Denovali, was defined by critics “one of the most beautiful albums of modern classical music of recent years”. Also his second album, “The Blue Hour”, was released last year by the historic recording company, Berlin Classics, for their music collection series.
