Challenges to European Security: A Transatlantic Perspective

Combating ISIS terrorism, the Ukrainian crisis, NATO’s role in European security and Europe’s energy security. These are the four key topics being addressed by policy and security experts in the conference on “Challenges to European Security: A Transatlantic Perspective”.

The event takes place today, 26 October 2014, at the Farnesina. It was organised by the Institute of International Affairs (IAI) with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Compagnia di San Paolo, NATO Public Diplomacy Division and the Embassy of the United States in Rome.

The conference is part of a wider initiative – the Transatlantic Security Symposium – launched by the IAI in 2007 to establish an annual forum in Rome on security issues. Symposium participants include security experts and officials from the United States, Europe and other regions of the world.
