Yesterday the Italian Embassy in Tirana organized a blood donation day, in agreement with the Albanian Ministry of Health and the Municipality of Tirana, which was also attended by President Ilir Meta and the Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj. An initiative of closeness to the population appreciated by President Meta who thanked Ambassador Fabrizio Bucci and the embassy staff with a tweet. The President expressed his “gratitude for their act and for the solidarity shown towards Albanians’ needs, in these moments of difficulties for everyone”.
The blood collection was carried out in cooperation with the National Blood Donors Association and the National Blood Transfusion Centre in Tirana in compliance with the precautionary measures against Covid-19. The Embassy was able to involve, thanks to the press and social media, the staff of Italy Country System, national and international institutions, and citizens.
