Cooperation: Mogherini cites reform as major victory after 27 years

According to Minister for Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini, the new law on cooperation is a major victory. “The reform has finally been approved, after 27 years of unsuccessful attempts, a few months from the start of the Renzi government, and is a great achievement”, she said. “It is also cause for great personal satisfaction for me, since I have been working for years in parliament for this reform”, she pointed out, “and it is an important signal that it’s approval was largely unanimous, thanks to the extraordinary commitment of Deputy Minister Lapo Pistelli, whom I thank, and the support of both branches of parliament, all parliamentary groups and non-governmental organisations”.
