Deadline for participation extended to May 25, 2022
In the European Year of Youth, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation gives voice to Italian school students in the world, the cornerstone of the Italian Educational System worldwide. They will be the key players at the 22nd Italian Language Week in the World, envisaged to be focused on the theme “Italian and Youths” and to take place in October 2022.
Through the call for proposals titled “Inventa il titolo della SLIM 2022” (“Invent the Title of SLIM 2022”), the Ministry calls on students to express themselves and take the challenge, first-handed and with creativity, to submit proposals, one of which will be chosen to be the actual title of the event.
This year, the event intends to promote youths’ languages and explore the ways in which contemporary Italian and communication are evolving through the new generations, the agents of change of an ever-more creative, vital, and innovative language.
The Call targets students in Italian second-level secondary schools, public and private, who are called upon to propose a title by elaborating on the theme of “Italian and Youths”.
The deadline for submitting proposals (to: concorso.slim@esteri.it) is extended to May 25, 2022. Each proposal can be submitted by one or more classes under the guidance of a coordinating teacher.
The winners will be awarded a prize at one of the events organized for the 22nd Italian Language Week in the World, which will consists of books made available by the Dante Alighieri Society and Treccani, in addition to being given the opportunity to take part in a program of Rai Italia. They will also be given the chance to produce a short video on the theme of the Week, which could be used to promote the event.
The Call is launched by the Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in conjunction with the principal partners of the Italian Language Week in the World, namely the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Education, University and Research, the Accademia della Crusca, the Centro per il Libro e la Lettura (CePeLL), the Consiglio Generale degli Italiani all’Estero (CGIE), the Enciclopedia Italiana – La Treccani, the Società Dante Alighieri and Rai Italia.
