The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Luigi Di Maio, participated by videoconference in the meeting of the of the “Berlin Process” Foreign Ministers, which includes the six Western Balkan countries and nine EU countries.
The agenda of the ministerial meeting focused on political dialogue to consolidate regional reconciliation and on the economic agenda to foster intra-regional integration.
Minister Di Maio emphasised the need to give new impetus to the process of European integration in the Balkans, as a way of strengthening the reform process and anchoring the region to the values and principles of the European Union. He then encouraged the Western Balkan countries to continue along the path of regional integration, including through concrete measures to foster intra-regional mobility.
