Secretary General, Ambassador Ettore Sequi, attends the “Colloquia on Science Diplomacy” (21 November 2022)​

The Secretary General of the Farnesina, Ambassador Ettore Sequi, attended the closing event of the “Colloquia on Science Diplomacy” organised by the Accademia dei Lincei. The conference was attended by the Secretary General of the OECD, Mathias Cormann, who delivered a masterclass.

Ambassador Sequi emphasised how scientific diplomacy represents a linchpin in Italy’s foreign policy and in our Country’s actions to tackle major global issues such as climate change, and food, health, and energy security.

Ambassador Sequi highlighted the role played by Italy within the OECD in promoting multilateral solutions benefiting sustainable growth and development. Ambassador Sequi concluded by recalling the importance that our Country attributes to the dissemination of international standards and best practices to foster innovation and research.
