The first consular dialogue between Italy and India was held today at the Directorate General for Italian Citizens Abroad and Migration Policies of this Ministry. Deputy General Director Paolo Crudele, assisted by officials from the Farnesina, has welcomed the delegation led by the Deputy Director for Consular Affairs of the Indian Foreign Ministry, Adarsh Swaika.
Among the topics discussed the most important were the respective visa policies applicable to different categories of applicants, the consular cooperation for the protection of respective national communities, the simplification of procedures, the circular mobility and the prospects for new arrangements.
This first round of negotiations intends to launch structured and periodic cooperation on consular matters between Italy and India, with the aim of expanding and improving the use of services for the respective communities and intensifying exchanges and collaboration in the fields of training, study, culture and commercial relations.
