A programme entitled “A journey to discover Italy, Cultures and the Mediterranean” opens at the Diocletian Baths – A journey from Iran to Morocco

“A journey to discover Italy, Cultures and the Mediterranean”, a cultural initiative that starts in Rome at the Diocletian Baths, will take Italy’s art and culture on a journey across the countries of the Mediterranean in 2018, thanks to the Farnesina’s network abroad. “Culture is a bridge that unites people and fosters dialogue and mutual understanding,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, addressing the directors of the 83 Italian Cultural Institutes in the World that have gathered in Rome to attend their annual two-day conference. This special presentation represents one of the most interesting moments of the event.”Italy’s artistic heritage and cultural tradition have few equals in the rest of the world. But innovation and creativity are also key features that characterize Italy. We must continue working on this basis,” added Minister Alfano. The ‘Italy, Cultures and the Mediterranean’ programme represents the best of the Italian contemporary cultural narrative. It will engage many countries, from Iran to Morocco, in participating in initiatives geared to strengthening ties with our Country through the universal language of art. It is an integrated promotional programme that forms part of the extraordinary plan #vivereALL’italiana (the Italian Way of Life), which is based on exchanging and valorizing diverse cultural and social identities.
