Sri Lanka. Emergency contribution allocated by the Italian Cooperation service in response to the health crisis

The Italian Cooperation service has allocated an emergency contribution of over 340,000 euros to the World Health Organization (WHO) in response to the deteriorating economic conditions in Sri Lanka, which have caused a serious health crisis with shortages of medicines and essential goods. The Italian contribution will enable the Organization to purchase and send medical supplies and life-saving medicines requested by the local authorities and needed to assist the most vulnerable persons. With this initiative, the Italian Government intends to provide tangible support to the Sinhalese people at this particularly difficult time and to show its closeness.
