Deputy Minister Del Re at the Nagoya G20​ Foreign Ministers’ Meeting

Deputy Foreign Minister, Emanuela Del Re, is in Nagoya, Japan, to attend the G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting. On 1 December 2019, Italy will officially become a member of the G20 Troika which, in addition to Italy, will include the outgoing Presidency (Japan) and the incoming Presidency (Saudi Arabia). Italy’s presidency of the G20 will begin on 1 December 2020 and will conclude on 30 November 2021.

The Nagoya meeting opened today with a social dinner for the Heads of Delegation. Two working sessions are scheduled for tomorrow morning: the first will be dedicated to promoting free trade and global governance (with a special focus on the reform of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations Organization); the second session will focus on the 2030 Agenda of sustainable development goals. The session will close with a working luncheon dedicated to Africa. On the fringes of the working sessions, the Deputy Minister will hold a number of bilaterial meetings with other Heads of Delegation.

Before the Meeting opened, the Deputy Minister visited an exhibition dedicated to Caravaggio at the Nagoya City Art Museum which opened last 26 October and has so far recorded more than 35,000 visitors.
