JOINT RELEASE – Foreign Ministry and Confartigianato present Benfatto in Italy to the world

BENFATTO, the project promoting Italy’s craft excellence will be available as from today, 15 May, on all Foreign Ministry’s channels

On the occasion of the 2023 Convention of Confartigianato Imprese on 15 May, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation is launching Benfatto, a new and original project.

Five videos and a digital and physical exhibition of over one hundred photographs to present to the world the excellence of Italian craftsmanship and manufacturing in the food, furniture and furnishing accessories, fashion, jewellery and innovation sectors. A tale of stories, people, territories and, above all, products that best express the potential and uniqueness of the territory in which they are created.

The initiative, organised by the Foreign Ministry in collaboration with Confartigianato Imprese, is part of the action to support “Made in Italy” products and the internationalisation of companies, one of the Foreign Ministry’s fundamental objectives. The twenty-five enterprises involved were selected by Confartigianato according to geographical distribution criteria and are representative of districts, equity and sustainability of production processes.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Antonio Tajani, said: “Small and medium-sized craft enterprises are an essential component of Italy’s production fabric. Their growth in foreign markets is a priority of this government.” With Benfatto, “we bring skills and traditions of small craft workshops to the international scene, so as to make their long history and focus on innovation increasingly appreciated.”

The products and stories of craftsmen and small entrepreneurs are the protagonists of an immersive narrative that enables consumers, international buyers, and institutional stakeholders to “experience” the Italian know-how expressed by “craft companies”. A sort of business card to present on foreign markets the quality of products that are the result of manufacturing tradition combined with technological innovation, sustainability, and a deep bond with territorial identity.

Confartigianato President Marco Granelli, underlined: “Benfatto describes the value of Italian craftsmanship with a modern and engaging journey of voices and images in success stories and in good manufacturing practices that enable us to appreciate our vast entrepreneurial heritage in its many sectors and territorial identities”.

Benfatto will be promoted by the Foreign Ministry through the foreign network of Embassies, Italian Cultural Institutes, Consulates, ICE offices, and through all the channels for disseminating Italy’s initiatives at an international level.
