Energy: Palestine looks to renewables, examines law on sector incentives

Palestine is determined to develop renewable energy sources. Indeed, the Palestinian Authority’s goal is to fill 25% of their energy needs from renewable sources within 2020. The law is to envisage incentives for the production of energy for residential purposes, the measurement of public consumption and the private sector, and private large-scale projects (for which the price will be calculated competitively). Italy is operating in the renewables sector in Palestine with the Renep project within the framework of the Palestinian Municipalities Support Programme.
