Zagreb, Week of the Italian Language closes with Calvino

To close the 23rd Week of the Italian Language in the World, which this year focused on the theme “Italian and sustainability”, the Italian Cultural Institute in Zagreb organised a concert-reading dedicated to Italo Calvino.

The event, entitled “Sul far del giorno”, proposed — through the music of composer and saxophonist Marco Castelli and the readings of actor Adriano Giraldi — a moment of encounter between notes and words that made it possible to fully relive the many nuances of Calvino’s writing.

Further events organised in Croatia on the occasion of the Week of the Italian Language included: the award ceremony for the literary competition on the theme of “Italian and sustainability” in collaboration with the Italian Croatian Chamber of Commerce (Rijeka); “Dante a km zero”, an audiovisual contribution for the translation and interpretation of the Canto I of the Inferno in Italian dialects (Split); and the award ceremony for the winning students of the video competition “Il pensiero ecologico di Italo Calvino” (Pula).
