The Embassy of Italy in Prague, in collaboration with the Italian Alfa Romeo Register (RIAR), hosted an exhibition of Alfa Romeo classic cars on 7 and 8 September, as part of the 37th International Rally in Bohemia.

The exhibition, open to the public from 4.30 p.m. to 7.00 p.m., offered visitors the chance to admire a number of models that epitomise the history of the Italian car manufacturer, founded in Milan in 1910 and a leading figure in the international motoring world thanks to its technical innovation, design and Italian industrial heritage. The 37th RIAR International Rally also took the Alfa Romeo cars and their crews on a journey of discovery through some of the most picturesque parts of the Czech Republic.

“The Prague leg took on particular significance, not least because of the parallels between the roles played by the motor industry in Italy and the Czech Republic as a driving force behind economic activity, prosperity and creativity, capable of endowing the car with iconic status imbued with symbolic meaning.” “The setting in which the exhibition took place reflects this Italian-Czech parallel: the cars were displayed in the historic courtyard of the Embassy of Italy, in the heart of Malá Strana, creating a meeting of Prague’s architectural heritage and Italian design,” emphasised Ambassador Alessandro Gaudiano.

The event forms part of the Embassy’s efforts to promote Italian excellence and the ‘Made in Italy’ culture in the Czech Republic, highlighting tradition, manufacturing expertise and innovation.
