Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, is in Brussels to attend the Foreign Affairs Council of the European Union.
The Council, which is chaired by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Borrell, will begin its proceedings with an exchange of views with Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Kuleba on Russian aggression against Ukraine. This will be followed by a discussion between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the 27 countries on the situation in Israel and the Middle East and the Sahelian region. The foreign policy dimension of economic security will also be on the agenda. The meeting will be preceded by an informal meeting with the Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ararat Mirzoyan.
Also present in Brussels will be the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, who, with his Armenian colleague, has been the protagonist in recent days of an initial bilateral agreement that should hopefully lead to a real peace treaty between the two countries in the near future.
