MED DIALOGUES Extraordinary Expert Meeting:
Minister Tajani opens the session on growth diplomacy 

Rome Monday 5 February, 9:30 a.m., Hotel Rome Cavalieri, Waldorf Astoria Hotel (Via Cadlolo, 101) 

 

On Monday 5 February, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., the Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, will launch the new economic platform of the Rome MED Dialogues dedicated to enterprises, within the context of the 9th edition of “Rome MED Dialogues – Extraordinary Expert Meeting”.

Minister Tajani’s speech will open the session “The role of Italian Growth Diplomacy in the Mediterranean”, the only one open to the press, which will see the active participation of Italian companies and trade associations, alongside leading experts and researchers from the Mediterranean region. A press point is scheduled at the end of the session.

The proceedings of the session will also be streamed on the Farnesina YouTube channel.

The MED Extraordinary Expert Meeting is promoted within the framework of the Rome Mediterranean Dialogues, the main yearly public diplomacy initiative of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as co-organised with ISPI since 2015 with the aim of bringing together institutional representatives, experts, analysts, young people and exponents of civil society, business and media to discuss the main challenges in the Mediterranean and strengthen intra-regional cooperation around four pillars: Security, Prosperity, the Human Dimension and Civil Society and Culture.

Journalists, photographers and cameramen interested in attending the open session proceedings (5 February from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.) may apply for accreditation by sending a request by Friday 2 February 2024 at 3:00 p.m., to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it, attaching the following:

–  copy of an identity document;

–  letter of assignment from the newspaper of affiliation or – in the absence of the latter – copy of professional identity card;

– Verbal note of the Embassy in Rome of the country of the press organisation represented (for representatives of foreign press organisations).

Accredited press may enter the Hotel Rome Cavalieri, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel (Via Alberto Cadlolo, 101) on 5 February from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
