On Wednesday, 16 October, the Italian Embassy to the Holy See hosted the press conference for the XV Edition of the Diplomacy Festival, titled “Looking for Cratos – Power and its Many Faces,” which will run until 25 October. The founder and Secretary-General, Giorgio Bartolomucci, introduced the theme of this year’s Festival, which, as always, will feature numerous events held across various institutional and academic venues in Rome. Speakers included Ambassador Giampiero Massolo, who also chairs the Festival’s Scientific Committee, Aurelio Regina, President of the Festival, Carlo Corazza, Head of the European Parliament Liaison Office, Elena Grech, Acting Head of the European Commission Representation in Rome, and Roberto Sgalla, Director of the Centre for American Studies. Representing the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation were Director Marco Riccardo Rusconi and the Head of Communications and Institutional Relations, Ugo Ferrero.
Following the press conference, the Festival officially began at Palazzo Borromeo with its first event titled “The Power of AI between Ethics and Realism“, a discussion between Ambassador Massolo and Father Paolo Benanti, advisor to the Holy Father on AI and Chairman of the Commission on AI for the Council of Ministers’ Information division, moderated by journalist Carmen Lasorella.
