UPDATE – PRESS ACCREDITATION NOTE
COMMEMORATION OF AMBASSADOR LUCA ATTANASIO
(Farnesina, Friday, 21 February 2025)
On Friday, 21 February, at 6:00 p.m., the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, will lay a laurel wreath at the Scalea Attanasio (Farnesina Palace, Olympic side) in memory of Ambassador Luca Attanasio. The ceremony will mark the fourth anniversary of the attack in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, in which Ambassador Attanasio, Carabiniere Vittorio Iacovacci, and WFP driver Mustapha Milambo lost their lives. A subsequent commemoration ceremony for Carabiniere Vittorio Iacovacci will take place at the Crisis Unit.
Journalists interested in attending the ceremony can apply for accreditation by sending a request by 12:00 p.m. on Friday, 21 February, by e-mail to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (tel. 06/3691-3432 – 8573-3078-8210), as follows:
For representatives of the Italian press organisations:
– a copy of the identity document,
– a letter of assignment from the newspaper of affiliation or – in the absence of the latter -, a copy of professional identity card.
For representatives of foreign press organisations not accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
– a copy of the identity document,
– letter from the newspaper of affiliation,
– Verbal note of the Embassy in Rome of the country of the press organisation represented.
For representatives of foreign press already accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the request must be sent with a copy of an identity document attached.
Accredited journalists must arrive at the Farnesina Palace, Olympic side entrance, between 5:00 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. to collect their badge before proceeding to Scalea Attanasio.
Submitting the above-mentioned personal data means authorising the use thereof in accordance with Italian Legislative Decree no. 196 of 30 June 2003 and the GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679) by the Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the data controller, for strictly professional purposes and/or purposes related to the performance of the event in question.
