The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has welcomed the Russian Federation’s decision to return the management of the Ariston production plant, located in the Leningrad region, to the company. This outcome is also the result of extensive efforts carried out by the Italian Foreign Ministry, the Italian Embassy in Moscow, and the broader Sistema Italia network.
In April 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani established a working group to protect Italian businesses still operating in Russia while complying with existing sanctions. This initiative was launched in response to Russia’s decision to strip Ariston of control over its production plant.
Alongside the efforts of Italian institutions, several major Italian and European business associations active in Russia also played a key role in addressing the issue. The Italian Embassy worked closely with these organisations as part of a coordinated national strategy. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also emphasised that the successful resolution of the Ariston case was, in part, thanks to the actions of these business associations.
