The role of Embassies and Consulates in projecting Italian economic interests abroad – linking institutions, private enterprise and foreign authorities in the organisation of protection and promotional events, and in the continuing support of business, financial, cultural and tourism operators – is fundamental to successfully gaining access to emerging countries.
Coordination of diplomatic network
The peculiarities of emerging countries, their rapid development and the importance of understanding local phenomena and interacting with leaders in at the level of the economics and communication, are concerns that are increasingly leading to seeking a form of coordination from embassies that is not imposed from above but that is instead invoked by the same enterprises as guarantee of added value.
How this all happens will be examined in the new segment of “Diplomazia e Dintorni” airing on 15 April. Host Stefano Baldi will interview Livio Spadavecchia, former Trade Counsellor at the Embassy of Italy in Beijing.
