The Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Edmondo Cirielli, visited the Rome site of Thales Alenia Space today – a joint venture in the aerospace sector between French company Thales and Italian company Leonardo – a European leader in satellite manufacturing.
The Deputy Minister was welcomed by the CEO of Thales Alenia Space Italia, Giampiero di Paolo, and toured the satellite integration centre, seeing first-hand the level of excellence achieved by the Italian firm.
“This innovative and productive hub allows Italy to position itself as a key player in the global Space industry and to compete effectively on international markets. Thales Alenia Space is also a prime example of successful collaboration between Italy and France in a strategic sector of fundamental importance for Europe’s future, and one to which the Government is giving strong attention,” the Deputy Minister said.
