“Italy – Latin America and the Caribbean: a growing partnership”

On Tuesday, 7 October 2025, the 12th Italy – Latin America and Caribbean Conference will be held in Rome at the Grand Hotel Parco dei Principi.

The Conference, now in its twelfth edition, will be presided over by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, and will bring together in Rome the Foreign Ministers of Latin American and Caribbean countries, Embassy representatives, Italian institutional figures, technical staff, and experts.

Organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) in collaboration with the Ibero-American General Secretariat (IILA), the event aims to strengthen relations with the region, addressing topics of particular interest such as growth diplomacy, promotion of investments and partnerships, cooperation in combating organised crime and in the fields of justice and security, and collaboration on cultural, academic, and scientific-technological matters.

The Conference will open with a speech by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, followed by interventions from the Colombia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and pro tempore President of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), Rosa Yolanda Villavicencio, and the Secretary for Relations with States and International Organisations of the Holy See’s Secretariat of State, H.E. Msgr. Paul Richard Gallagher.

The sessions will be divided into two thematic panels: the first entitled “Economic partnership with Latin America and the Caribbean to support growth and free trade”, and the second “Energy cooperation as a pillar of the Italy – Latin America and Caribbean partnership”.

Journalists will be able to follow the sessions from a listening room, while photographers and cameramen will be accommodated in the Conference Hall. 

PRESS ACCREDITATION

Journalists, photographers and cameramen wishing to attend the sessions can apply for accreditation by sending a request no later than 3:00 p.m. on Monday, 6 October, by email to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (tel. 06/3691 3432 – 8573 or 8210), as follows:

For representatives of the Italian press organisations:

  • a copy of the identity document;
  • a letter of assignment from the newspaper of affiliation or – in the absence of the latter -, a copy of professional identity card.

For representatives of foreign press organisations not accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

  • a copy of the identity document;
  • letter from the newspaper of affiliation;
  • Verbal note of the Embassy in Rome of the country of the press organisation represented.

For representatives of foreign press already accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the request must be sent with a copy of an identity document attached.

Accredited journalists, photographers and cameramen may collect their badge at the Grand Hotel Parco dei Principi, Via G. Frescobaldi, no. 5, from 07:30 to 08:00 a.m. on 7 October 2025.

Please note that no new accreditation requests will be accepted on the day of the event; only substitutions will be allowed.
