The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, will open today in Turin at 11:00 a.m. “Export Objective: Businesses and Territories of Northern Italy”, the first in a series of events aimed at supporting the internationalisation of Italy’s production system.
More than 700 participants are expected, along with around 600 meetings between companies and Heads of Commercial Offices from a number of Italian Embassies (France, Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, Poland, China, Türkiye, Japan, Canada and Ethiopia), Directors of several Italian Trade Agency offices (New York, São Paulo, New Delhi, Dubai and Riyadh), and experts from SACE, SIMEST and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti. A total of 126 Ambassadors will follow the Conference via videoconference.
Throughout the event, at the Ministry’s information desk, participating companies will be able to request in-person meetings or virtual meetings with Italian Ambassadors in the days following the Conference.
Promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation with the support of the Piedmont Region, the event will open with institutional remarks by President Alberto Cirio, followed by an address by Minister Tajani and sessions focusing on export support instruments and the role of local territories in developing international markets, in cooperation with leading business associations.
In an international context marked by growing geopolitical uncertainty, rapid innovation and shifts in global value chains, discussions will focus on the strategies needed to support a production system strongly oriented towards foreign markets, such as that of Northern Italy. From this perspective, diversification of export markets, security of supply, as well as product quality and competitiveness emerge as key drivers of export growth and resilience. Particular attention will also be devoted to strengthening high-tech industrial supply chains, a strategic lever to consolidate Italy’s position in global value chains, with a specific focus on national leadership in the space sector and the international growth potential of the cybersecurity ecosystem.
During his visit to Turin, Minister Tajani will also take part in the inauguration of the new SIMEST office, conceived as a reference point for companies in North-Western Italy engaged in internationalisation.
