The Italian Foreign Ministry is present at the Turin International Book Fair with a stand and a large programme of events. The stand was inaugurated with an event dedicated to the Italian participation in the next International Book Fair in Guadalajara.
The Italian publishing industry is a major sector of the national cultural industry, with a value of EUR 3.2 billion and ranking sixth worldwide. The presence of the Italian Foreign Ministry at the Turin International Book Fair is also confirmed as an opportunity to enhance the different dimensions of Italian diplomacy – sports, economic, cultural and legal – through a programme of meetings and in-depth studies. Among the many themes, the role of sport and the recent Winter Olympics Milan Cortina, with testimonies of important athletes such as Arianna Fontana and Francesca Porcellato.
Considerable attention is also dedicated to MAECI’s tools to support businesses and to promote Italian excellence in the world, to the network of Italian schools abroad and to opportunities for young people, including access to diplomatic careers. Also in the spotlight is the debate on information in the digital age and the fight against organised crime, confirming the Italian Foreign Ministry’s action, which is articulated and oriented toward strengthening Italy’s presence on the international scene.
