The Italian Cultural Institute of Madrid presents the exhibition “Metamorfosis. Las transformaciones de la belleza” (“Metamorphosis: The Transformations of Beauty”) by the Italian artist Andrea Crespi, curated by Clelia Patella, open to the public from today, 18 June, until 29 August 2026.
Through painting, installation, sculpture and digital processes, Andrea Crespi explores the concept of beauty and its transformation in the contemporary era. At the heart of his research lies ‘Neosynthesis’, an artistic principle that combines memory and innovation, reinterpreting forms and symbols of classical tradition through the visual languages of the present.
For this occasion, Andrea Crespi has also created a new large-scale work inspired by Venus and Mars, taking as its reference point the celebrated group housed in the Prado Museum in Madrid, thus creating an ideal bridge between Spanish artistic heritage and contemporary Italian sensibility.
With “Metamorphosis,” Madrid becomes a meeting point between European classical heritage and new forms of contemporary creativity, in a dialogue between art, technology, and cultural memory.
