The under-30 contribution
The “World Economic Forum” opens its doors to young people. The annual meeting in Davos of world business, politics, culture and professional leaders, on the lookout for new ideas for addressing the planet’s problems, is asking the under-30 crowd for its contribution. The project is known as “Global Shapers”.
Think-tanks and Do-tanks
“They won’t be actual think-tanks, but rather do-tanks, places to think but above all to do, to subvert paradigms and set up new rhythms by passing the staff to the younger generation”, explains Pasquale Salzano, chosen in 2011 by the World Economic Forum as one of the “Young Global Leaders”, and given the job of Rome coordinator of the “Global Shapers” project.
Interested young people between the ages of 20 and 30 should submit their CVs no later than 8 June, along with a few lines about what motivates them, to rome@globalshapers.org. Candidates selected will be called in for an interview, and those who pass the test will be placed in a work group that will meet periodically to draft projects (there is no monetary compensation) and will have a chance to participate at Davos. The examining committee will be made up of professionals and scholars. Good knowledge of English is a basic requirement.
