MARINES: “Need to display confidence and tenacity”, says De Mistura

“We need to display confidence and tenacity”, asserted Under-Secretary De Mistura in an interview for “Unomattina” on the two Italian marines being tried in an Indian court. For the moment “the ballistics evidence is crucial. If it emerges that the bullets are not Italian we will be bringing them home soon. If the results are not favourable, we can’t let that shake us”, he stressed. “Shots can be fired by mistake, and in that case they must be tried at home. When I arrived in India I found myself in front of a wall”, de Mistura added, referring to the country’s heated pre-electoral mood.
